Trumpeter Carys Wood, 18, who plays the trumpet and is from Wales, has been supported by the organisation, with funding assisting with equipment, teaching, and travel fees - and she said it was "awesome" to be playing at tonight's service. "Musical pursuits are frequently pricey," Carys said. She is now a student at the Royal Academy of Music, and added that "all people deserve the chance" to hone their artistic talents. A Sisterly Duo Her younger sibling Eliza, aged 11, who is a euphonium player, will likewise attend the Abbey. "I never imagined I would perform in front of so many notable figures," she said. Among the guests will be representatives of different generations. That will feature nine-year-old Saphia Turner, honouree of a young hero award, who creates and sells art and completes fundraising tasks to collect donations for local food charities. Seasonal Ambiance and Entertainment The Abbey has been adorned with handcrafted festive wreaths, with well-known chef Mary Berry and flower expert Simon Lycett contributing to their design. Among the musical performers will be recording artist Katie Melua, the Westminster Abbey choristers and a maritime folk band from Cornwall, the group Fisherman's Friends, who said the invitation to sing was "the perfect culmination."
