Much like bad weather hit the north-west the previous evening, City blew the visitors away at the Etihad. It was a convincing three-nil triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their championship potential as they reinforced their standing at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Losses for United

This scoreline marked consecutive Women's Super League losses for the United manager's side for the maiden instance since last May, placing them seven points off the top team with their title hopes in serious doubt.

The Red Devils' capability to manage domestic and European soccer with a thin squad has been a frequently analyzed topic since they qualified for the Champions League.
